Revitalizing Edwardian Elegance: A Kitchen Refurbishment in Eaton, Norwich

Nestled in the picturesque neighborhood of Eaton, within the historic city of Norwich, lies our latest endeavor: a captivating kitchen refurbishment project that seamlessly marries functionality with the timeless elegance of an Edwardian property. Project Overview: Our team embarked on a journey to revitalize a spacious open-plan area, blending the timeless allure of classic design with the practical demands of contemporary living. With a focus on premium quality and meticulous attention to detail, we transformed the space into a culinary haven that exudes sophistication and functionality.

Design Elements: Central to the transformation was the selection of exquisite materials and renowned brands. We chose Silestone Ariel 20mm quartz worksurfaces, including 100mm high upstands, which were further increased in height to the underside of the windowcill. Speaking of the windowcill, it was also adorned with the same premium quartz material, seamlessly integrating with the overall aesthetic.

The kitchen, manufactured by Burbidge, boasts the Finsbury range in Seal Grey—a shaker painted timber door that epitomizes classic elegance. To accentuate the timeless charm of the space, we incorporated aged brass accessories, including cup handles, door knobs, and the iconic Perrin and Rowe Traditional Metis tap.

The design features an inviting island with a prep sink and boiling hot tap, complemented by open oak wall cabinets and matching tray spaces, seamlessly blending style with functionality. And let's not forget our feline friend—the customer's shorthair tortoiseshell cat—who's taken a liking to lounging beside the island, adding a touch of whimsy to the space.

For the flooring, we opted for rustic green/grey slate effect tiles, adding depth and character to the space. To soften the aesthetic and create visual interest, the sink run was elegantly terminated by a curved end unit, harmonizing with the room's architectural nuances.

Appliances and Finishing Touches: In line with our commitment to excellence, we equipped the kitchen with premium AEG oven appliances, a Neff dishwasher, and a Smeg gas hob paired with a built-in Elica Lux extractor hood—perfectly marrying form and function.

The finishing touches included oblong glazed ceramic tile backsplash in a soothing pale green hue, adding a touch of warmth and character to the space. With tall Edwardian glazed windows and a roof lantern flooding the room with natural light, the kitchen effortlessly integrates with its surroundings, creating a seamless transition between indoors and outdoors.
